About the Studio

Darryl Schmitt Photography has been a full service studio in the New Orleans area since 1981.

I photographed my first wedding in June 1973 working for Romaguera Photography. I studied under and worked for Ralph Romaguera until 1981 at which time I went in business for myself. I continue to study and learn new techniques by attending seminars and conventions. I still love photographing weddings and treat each wedding with the enthusiasm I felt at that first wedding in 1973.

I am a home based studio in Metairie, LA. I've been married since 1975 to my wife, Mary Ann. We have two sons, Darryl Jr. and Raymond. I feel working out of my home helps me to give my clients a more personal touch and I hope they feel at ease, and at home, whether they are here to be photographed or to pick up their portraits.

Darryl is a member of the Professional Photographer of America and Professional Photographer of Louisiana. Darryl has won many awards and has held many positions in these organizations.
